Auto Add Tags

Description
Find existing tags in your new post content. If found, automatically add those tags to the post whenever you save the post.

In additions, due to the popularity of hashtag sign, if you put the symbol “#” (hashtag) in front of any word in your post content, this plugin will automatically add those words as tags of that post when saved.

Installation

  1. Upload auto-add-tags.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. That’s it.

You can get this free plugin from WordPress.org

    • I am not too sure about this because I have limited knowledge about the Persian language, but I suppose it should work as well.

  2. I’m trying to remove a few tags that are in the post, but not the main idea, but they keep tagging when I save. Any work around for this? Thanks.

      • Thanks for your reply. I don’t think they are. I’m just writing straight into the visual editor. One of the tags that came up was a combination of letters and numbers. I’m not sure where it came from.

I tried removing they tags and re-saving, but they just auto tag again. Is there another way to remove them from the tag list?

        Thanks.

  3. Hello
When I want to post a thread, it takes a long time (about 60 seconds) with your plugin, and If I disable the plugin, it will take about 10 seconds.

  4. Hi,

May I suggest some features? I would include a ‘hole’ words lock so tags are never assigned based on a piece of a word.

And also a negative tags list, which should never be used…

    best.

  5. Besides, if the tags are not ok everytime I save the post after deleting them they will come back.

The idea is really good, but we can´t use the plugin at this stage, could wellcome a premium version with proper configuration options.

    thks. L.

  6. Hi again,
We have been testing the plugin for several days, and suddenly it stopped working. Any idea of what could go wrong?
Besides, as I said in my last comment I am willing to buy a premium version that included just a few options such as:
    – Use tittle or tittle + body for auto tag
    – Use hole / partial words
    – Limit the auto tagging only to existing tags
    and so.
    best. L.

  7. That’s strange. I haven’t made any modification lately.

Thanks for your offer. Anyway, I could add those features in the next version for free. Your inputs are already helpful for me.

  9. Hi,
My name is Andrew Kurtis and I am associated with Web Hosting Hub community team.
I found your Auto Add Tags plugin at http://dev.coziplace.com/free-wordpress-plugins/auto-add-tags very interesting. My idea is to translate that to Spanish language and help people from Hispanic community find your plugin useful too. But you would need to create the translatable .pot file first in order for me to proceed. Please let me know if you are willing to do that so I can translate it.

    Regards,

  10. Hello,

Week ago I have asked for your permission to translate your Auto Add Tags plugin in Spanish and I didn’t hear any from you since. I hope that you will find time to provide the reply, because we believe that the translation would be of a great use.

    All the best,
